The Manila Zoological
and Botanical Garden is home to about a thousand animals from 90 species as of
April 2015. The zoo's most popular resident is Mali, an Asian Elephant who
arrived at the zoo in 1977 as 3 year old calf transported from Sri Lanka, after
being poached from the wild.
Animals,
big and small, cute and cuddly, but the best thing in the world is to see them
personally. As usual me and my boyfriend went there to see it in person for the
first time. I desired to see the Lion and something unusual that I don’t see in
our community like snakes and crocodiles. I am so excited because I only see
animals in Movies. I longed to see a Giraffe but sad to say, it can only be
found in other country. But anyway it had been an amazing experience. I saw Mali the
Elephant, unusual chicken, birds with long beaks, horse etc (there are many
animals to see, I promise). My mistakes in this trip is that I forgot to
prepare our food. We have no other choice but to buy foods in the nearby stall
which is kind of expensive for me ( I don’t have a job yet, so In my point of
view it is kind of pricey).
We circumnavigated the whole zoo and never
missed an area. We had fun, my unforgettable thing about this trip is that the
bird pooed on me near the turtle area (I
am so unlucky) but good thing I have a spare t-shirt in my bag (yep girl scout).
So be sure to have a t-shirt when you visit the zoo because we never know what
can happen (Just sayin J
)
